As the hatred reputation lives on with the doberman breed, it has even impacted political views. In this link below, a news reporter compares what he calls “unfaithful politicians” to dobermans. This comparing is a representation of how humans can compare a breed of dog that has no voice to a politician with a loud voice. This news reporter is comparing all dobermans, even though each doberman has a different personality, attitude, and lifestyle, to a small amount of the population which has seemingly wronged the United States in his eyes. This is similar to Carol Adams idea of massification, as the reporter is comparing the whole breed of dobermans eliminating individuality. The woman who took offense to this comparison explains how unfathomable it is. This led to the apology the dobermans received from the reporter. Giving the dobermans the human quality of being able to take offense, read, and understand this apology is representation of the breed in itself, let alone the comparison that is being made.
